These are the car nuts! Car people are really, really in to their hobby, believe it. One sector of this fraternity is collecting diecast models scale cars.
Model scale cars are just that, smaller versions of the actual autos they represent. These cars are fascinating, and some of the finer versions are fully functional. They run, they turn, they honk, they roll, and they are really just a miniature version of the real thing. With this kind of detail and attention, they can be some serious fun.
So where does the serious collector go with, or do with, the collection at hand? Well, obviously it is a lot of fun to share what we care about with others. One great way is to take pictures of you rides and post them online. You can set up a site specific to the models or just attach them to emails and such. This is great way to share with people the world over, and car nuts just love to do that very sort of thing.
As little kids we knew that nothing beats a cool clubhouse, right? As bigger kids the same attitude applies! Create a car club for folks just like you. Put together monthly meetings where you can show off your latest and greatest toys, work on them together, swap parts and pointers, and just have a good time with your friends. You can hold it your garage and how cool is that?
The nest step up from the club is to put on actual car shows! Do it just like the big boys with the big cars do. Rent a space, or use one you have, give everyone a spot for his goodies, line them up, and judge them on appearance and capabilities. Every one can get involved in this, and you can host even more people than you could in the garage. Add some barbecue and you are looking at a party. Throw in prizes and it could be an annual event.
With all of this nice stuff going on, what a great idea to keep everybody posted! Create a brochure or a nice newsletter with the details of all of these fun goings on and send them to all of your friends and neighbors. This way you collecting community is always in touch and no one has to miss a thing. This is a cheap and easy way to stay connected, and it works online, too. You can even turn a bit of a profit by selling advertising space!
And when the shows are over, and the party is through, what are you going to do? You can lovingly place your treasures where they belong, in a high quality display case in you home. Some of these pieces are truly treasures in and of themselves, and they can be a fine addition to any family room or den. Show off your collection with pride, and protect them at the same time.
As you can see, all of these concepts are really part of the same whole. The whole idea is to share your hobby with people who like collecting model scale cars, too. Show them, trade them, judge them, share a burger and a beer over them, but just enjoy sharing them as much as you do collecting them.
